What Is MPSC

Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) is a body created by the Constitution of India 
to select applicants for civil service jobs in the Maharashtra according to the merits of the
applicants and the rules of reservation.

The Head Office of the MPSC is located at Mumbai. Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC)
is a Constitutional Body established Under Article 315 of Constitution of India which provides
a smooth and efficient functioning of the Government of Maharashtra by providing suitable
candidates for various Government posts and advise them on various service matters like
formulation of recruitment rulesadvice on promotions, transfers and disciplinary actions etc.

Every year, the government of Maharashtra conducts MPSC exam through which it selects eligible
candidates for jobs under its various departments like administration, police, forest and engineering.
Annually, MPSC conducts about 15 examinations for class I, II and III officers in various government services.

The following examinations are conducted by Maharashtra Public Service Commission.

  • State Service Exam
  • Engineering Service Examination
  • Forest Service Examination
  • Agricultural Service Examination and many other departmental as well as competitive exams

Maharashtra Engineering Service exam is a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based state engineering entrance examination directed by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) for recruitment of Assistant Civil Engineer in Water Resource Department, Construction Department Water Supply and Health Department of the Government of Maharashtra Engineering Services in Maharashtra is broadly classified into two categories namely

  • Maharashtra Engineering Services, Grade-A
  • Maharashtra Engineering Services, Grade-B

Selection of Assistant Engineers in Maharashtra Engineering Services is based on written test conducted by the Maharashtra Public Services Commission (MPSC). Engineering aspirants are shortlisted for interview based on performance in the written test.  Maharashtra Engineering Services shall consist of three stages namely

  • a. Maharashtra Engineering Services Prelim Exam
  • b. Maharashtra Engineering Services Mains Exam
  • c. Interview / Group Discussion (GD)
  • Note: Candidates who cleared Maharashtra Engineering Services Mains Exam 2019 will be shortlisted for Group Discussion (GD) due to COVID- 19
